Tech Arts
This week in tech arts we have done our last lesson in science we did a test about everything we learnt in all our lessons and we also made sherbet and bath fizz, now we are doing food, where we are going to have a cafe.
Week Five
This is my Memoir.
We anxiously wait at the airport, hours ticking by. People coming and going, until it’s our turn. While we walk to the plane I am wondering what it will be like to fly on an aeroplane. What will we get to eat and drink, what will we see, and how high will we go. When we take our seats by the window I’m bursting with excitement. I hear a whir of the engines starting, and we taxi down the runway. Slowly the plane starts to lift off the ground. Higher and higher we go, everything slowly getting smaller and smaller, until finally I can’t see anything on the ground, just blurred colors. I haven’t realized how tired I actually am, because I start to sleep. When I wake up we are coming down to land, the big plane slowly gliding down in circles. The wheels start to roll out of their compartment, then I hear a squeal as the wheels touch the tarmac, and once again we taxi down the runway to the Gold Coast airport. We collect our bags and go to the waiting area. We wait hours until our bus comes to the airport to pick us up. By this time it had started to rain outside the airport. We take the bus to our hotel and put our bags on our beds, and walk to a pizzeria and order some dinner. After a nice pizza at the pizzeria we walk back to the hotel and fall asleep. The next day it’s not raining, but it is really windy, and we go to some theme parks. After many different rides at SeaWorld and Movie World, we are all very tired, but we manage to have some lunch and then spend the rest of the day in our hotel. The next day at Movie World we went on rollercoaster’s and watched a stunt car driver and a big parade with lots of movie characters like Shrek, Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny. At the end of the day we have many toys and things from the different theme parks we had been to. The next day we didn’t go to any theme parks but we did go to the movies and some shopping centres, the movie we watched was funny and we bought lots of cool things at the shopping centres but the best part of the day was when we had dinner at the surf club. The next day it was raining really hard but we went to Dreamworld and went on the best rides overall but again my favourite part, again, was dinner at the surf club. The last day we ordered Pancakes for breakfast, and packed our bags and left our hotel for the airport. At the airport we bought some things to take home, in the duty free, and waited at the waiting area until our plane had come. When we get on our plane I collapse on my seat and see the trees of Australia and then we take off and I look out the window until I fall asleep.

Shine wall
This is the new SHINE wall, that the painters painted on the wall in front of the office. The S stands for showing respect, the H stands for being honest, the I stands for including others, the N stands for never giving up and the E stands for seeking excellence.

Inter-Intermediate Triathlon
On Tuesday I went to the Inter-Intermediate Triathlon at the Karapiro domain. The swim went first at 150 meters, then the bike at eight kilometres, and lastly the run at 1.5 kilometre's. My team did not end up getting a placing, but my friend who went to my school last year, had made a team but his teammates did not show up so he asked me to do the 300 meter swim for his team. We ended up coming First in the under 14's mixed division even though I am only 12.

Term 1 Week 6, Tech Arts
On Tuesday we had Tech arts. Tech arts is something you do Twice a week. The Tech arts you do are Soft materials, Hard materials, Science, Music, Art and Food. In Soft materials you sew things, in Hard materials you build stuff out of wood and things, in Science you learn about friction and things, in Music you learn how to play some instruments, in Art you draw, paint and paper mache things, in Food you cook food. At the moment the year eights in my class are doing Soft materials. Our main project this year was to design and make a sweatshirt. My sweatshirt is straight black with a pocket and a hood. I finished mine and had some time left in the lesson so I started to make a beanie. My first attempt did not work out so I had to start again. I had to get my friend to help me make it because I kept on sewing it wrong. So on Tuesday I had sewn a beanie and a sweatshirt.

Hi , something new about me, i'm a year eight this year so that means more year sevens, some of them are funny. This year I have trialed for house captain but unfortunately I was not successful in making one of these positions

Term 1 Week 4
This week we have been doing lots of tests and maths. In maths we have been going over Factors, Multiples and Prime numbers. Factors are numbers which are multiplied together to give Products e.g the factors of 24 are 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24. Multiples are Factors multiplied together e.g the multiples of 3 are 3,6,9,12,15,18,21 and so on. Prime numbers are numbers that can only be divided by 1 and itself e.g 7 is a prime factor because it can only be divided by one and itself.
